The Pretreatment Program works with industrial and non-residential customers to provide support and assistance in proper treatment of wastes at the point of generation. The Pretreatment Coordinator works closely with business owners to verify secure chemical storage, use and waste stream management from on-site activities. The Pretreatment Coordinator ensures that federal, state and district regulation are met as well as helping in the education of customers about various methods to minimize or treat waste at the source. This lowers the overall cost of waste management and serves to protect the collections system, treatment plant, workers, the public and the environment.
