Board Minutes of June 27, 2007 Special Meeting Of the Board of Directors of the St. Vrain Sanitation District

Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 9:03 A.M.

No additions or deletions to the agenda.

Public Invited to be heard – 9:07 A.M.

Mr. Richard Kimball is currently a homeowner in the Dacono Sanitation District. He came to the Board meeting to voice his frustrations with the Dacono Sanitation District. For quite some time Mr. Kimball’s sewer was backing up. St. Vrain Sanitation District reviewed the video of his line. The problem was root infiltration.

Public Hearing on Setting an Election on the Issues of Inclusion of Property Currently Lying within the Dacono Sanitation District. – 9:13 A.M.

Mr. Dick Lyons stated that in May the Board of Directors passed a preliminary Resolution calling for a hearing on the issue of final adoption of the Resolution. Public notice was published in accordance with the State statute in the Time Calls on June 13, 2007. In addition the notice of the public hearing was sent to each property owner according to the assessors Office of Weld County in Dacono Sanitation District.

Mr. Jon Peterson explained that the monthly sewer charges for Dacono Sanitation District are presently $25.00 per Residential SFE per month. St. Vrain Sanitation District current charges are $22.00 per Residential SFE per month. St. Vrain Sanitation will have a General Operating Mill Levy of .865, which on a $200,000.00 home would amount to $13.70 per year, divided by 12 months is $1.15 per month. The total fee for sewer service for St. Vrain Sanitation District will be $23.15 per month per SFE.

Mr. Brad Hagen opened the Public Hearing – 9:15 A.M.

Mr. Richard Kimball of 1209 McGloplin Rd. directed his question to our District Engineer, Mr. Rob Fleck. Mr. Kimball would like to know who is responsible for the service lateral from the house to our line. Mr. Rob Fleck explained to Mr. Richard Kimball that the service lateral is the responsibility of the property owner.

Mayor Wade Carlson of 200 Burch Ave. announced to the Board that Dacono supports the inclusion of the Dacono Sanitation District into the St. Vrain Sanitation District.

Mr. Brad Hagen closed the Public Hearing – 9:15 A.M.

Mr. Wesley LaVanchy made a motion to approve Resolution 2007-09 calling for an Election on the issue of inclusion of property currently lying within the Dacono Sanitation District. Mr. Reggie Golden seconded it. Approved

Mr. Dick Lyons won’t file with the court until the IGA is signed, then he will file for election in November.
