Q: What service does St. Vrain Sanitation District provide?
A: St. Vrain Sanitation District is the sewer service provider, treating all wastewater from houses and businesses in the area. SVSD does not provide trash service. You will need to contact the town to find out who your trash provider is.
Q: Why do I get this bill every quarter?

A: This is your quarterly sewer bill that needs to be paid for sewer service. Sewer service can never be shut off, even if you are not using the facilities in the house, the bill still needs to be paid.
Q: How do I pay my bill?
A: There are many ways to pay your bill.
1. Over the phone with a Visa or Mastercard - call 303-682-4693.
2. Mail or drop off your payment at 11307 Business Park Circle, Firestone, CO 80504 (there is a drop box for after hour payments).
Q: How and where do I dispose of cooking grease?
A: St. Vrain offers a free grease trapper with disposable liners, which can be placed under the sink and filled with grease after cooking. When full, the liner may be tossed in the trash and new liners can be picked up for free at SVSD. If grease is poured down the drain, it can cause major problems in the service line, which is the responsibility of the homeowner.
Q: What is the service responsibility of SVSD?
A: St. Vrain Sanitation District is responsible for all the main sewer lines, most of which are located in the street.
Q: What is the property owner’s responsibility?
A: The property owner’s responsibility is the service lateral from the house to where it connects to the main.
Q: Who do I call if I need maintenance done to my service?
A: We cannot recommend a specific company, however we do recommend you call around to get the best price.
Q: What if sewer is backing up into my house?
A: Check with neighbors, if they too have a problem contact SVSD immediately. If neighbors are not having the same problems, SVSD would advise a plumber be contacted to check the service. SVSD may also be contacted to check the main.
Q: Does my homeowners insurance cover sewer back-ups?
A: You will need to check your insurance policy; most insurance does not cover sewer back-ups unless it was purchased separately.

A: Homeowners need to call for locates every time they dig on their property. Below is a color coded list of underground utilities.
